Inducted as Life Time Member on June 7, 2014

Shirley Roedel was a powerful, progressive woman with strength and spirit. Avid world travelers, Shirley and her husband Phil also shared an eye for angles and antiques. They worked for over 50 years based out of New York, where she became the editor–in–chief of photography and he a photographer for Colonial Homes Magazine, where they had many years of success. After retiring they moved to Wool Lea Farms in Tewksbury Township, New Jersey, where Shirley was an avid gardener. As a member of her local flower club she competed in multiple shows. After Phil’s death at the age of 98, Shirley let her family know she had stage 4 lung cancer. She moved to Bay City to be near family, continuing with her gardening, even judging a Matagorda County 4 – H flower show. She lived out her days enjoying her 5 o’clock cocktail and reading. Shirley was laid to rest in her beloved garden on Wool Lea Farms, where she will always be remembered by her children, grandchildren and loved ones.
