Texas Trio Classic 2010 Pre-lim Rules

  1. Entry forms due 6:30AM morning of tournament at check-in table
  2. All teams members must check in, in person, the morning of tournament at Russell’s Bait & Tackle with a tournament director. Check in window opens at 5AM.
  3. $150 per team minimum: $50 extra per person over 3 people, maximum 5 on a team.
  4. Discount on entry of $25 per team if payment mailed before Monday 5/31/10.
  5. Cash only will be accepted the day of the tournament. Early entries can be mailed and paid by check – must be postmarked by 5/31. You will receive a call from tournament director upon receipt of mailed entry. If you mail in early entry and have not received a call by 6/8, contact tournament director.
  6. All entry fees refundable upon weather cancellation.
  7. All individuals must be paid team members to be eligible for $1500 cash individual “biggest trout” prize.
  8. All teams and individuals must be paid teams and team members to be eligible to compete in the side pots.
  9. If a fishing guide is used the fish caught by the guide cannot be used unless guide is paid member of team.
  10. Teams do not need boat access to enter tournament.
  11. Artificial division may not use any type of bait (live or dead).
  12. If there are less than 10 teams in Artificial division the Artificial division will be combined with the Open division and one set of prize money will be awarded. This team count will be done at 6:30AM. If a team wishes to stay and wait and withdraw their entry if there is only one division - it is their right to do so.
  13. All fish must be caught on rod and reel.
  14. All fish in tournament must be legal size (no oversized (tagged) redfish).
  15. All fish to be weighed in must be caught after teams leave from harbor on morning of Texas Trio Classic.
  16. No fish may be accepted from or given to another team.
  17. Weighmaster and tournament directors have final decision on validity of fish.
  18. Fish used in individual “biggest trout” competition can be used in “Texas Trio” competition.
  19. Fish used in individual “biggest trout” competition and “Texas Trio” competition can be used in “side pot”
  20. “Team Side Pot” : only two trout over 25”
  21. Weigh in is 1-4PM in at Russell’s Bait and Tackle. All teams must be in the harbor at 4PM.
  22. Sponsors, organizers, and other entities involved in the Texas Trio Classic are not responsible for any accident or injury, nor loss, damage, or theft to any property.
  23. All winners subject to polygraph test.

Individual $1500 Biggest Trout
The person in the tournament who catches the biggest trout will receive $1500!
Biggest is most weight

Texas Trio Classic
The team will weigh one trout, one redfish, and one flounder. The team must have all three to compete. Most weight wins. Top three places pay.

Open Division

First –             40% total open division entries
Second -        20% total open division entries
Third -            10% total open division entries

Artificial Division

First –             40% total artificial division entries
Second -        20% total artificial division entries
Third -            10% total artificial division entries

Optional Team Side Pot

Up to three trout (only 2 over 25”) and up to two redfish.  Most weight wins. 80% Pay out.

Optional Individual Side Pot - Trout

The trout that is closest to 20" will win this side pot.

Optional Individual Side Pot - Redfish

The redfish that has the most spots will win this side pot. No oversized (tagged) redfish.

Tournament Tie Breaker

In the event of a tie in any division the tie breaker is the team/individual that weighs in earliest.
